Manaea was feeling discomfort during a long toss session in his rehab and underwent an MRI. Once he begins throwing again, he’ll need a full spring training buildup. That could take six weeks. Manaea returned to the Mets this offseason on a three-year, $75 million contract.

Sean Manaea certainly won’t return to pitch for the Mets in April, as originally hoped. Now May isn’t looking so good for him either.
