Celebrities, community members and even an NAACP conference are coming to the defense of a California track star who was stripped of her state title over the weekend in the 400-meter race after a post-race celebration involving a fire extinguisher.

A California high-school sprinter was stripped of the state title after an "unsportsmanlike" celebration with a fire extinguisher, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A runner cost herself a state championship in California for a celebration. Clara Adams of North Salinas High School won the 400-meter race in a time of 53.24 and then decided to re-enact what world-class sprinter Maurice Greene did after a victory in 2004.
