The Baltimore Orioles and Colorado Rockies played through rain for about two innings Friday night even after fans were told to evacuate open areas of the seating bowl because of potential lightning in the area.

The Orioles clobbered four home runs in the first two innings but couldn’t hold on in a rain-soaked loss to the Rockies on Friday.

Starting for the Rockies is Kyle Freeland. This will be his 19th start of the season, his tenth on the road. He is the second pitcher in franchise history to have nine seasons with more than 10 starts, joining Aaron Cook (2003-2011).

Ezequiel Tovar hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the top of the eighth inning, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Friday night to improve to 5-2 since the All-Star break.

Ushers at Oriole Park temporarily forced fans in the lower bowl to take cover from lightning in the area. But Friday’s game was not delayed.
