BJP leader Raosaheb Danve hinted that the Maharashtra Chief Minister's name has been finalised, while a Shiv Sena leader said Eknath Shinde is expected to return to Mumbai today as government formation hangs in the balance.

According to sources, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which emerged as the single largest party in the Maharashtra assembly election, is backing Devendra Fadnavis as the next CM and has been pushing for two deputy CMs - from Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.

Caretaker Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde recovering from fever and throat infection, decision expected soon, oath ceremony on Dec 5.

According to his family doctor, Dr RM Patre, Shinde has been suffering from a fever, cold, and throat infection for the past two days. He has been administered antibiotics and saline and is expected to recover within a day or two.
