NEW YORK (OSV News) – Some 35 years ago, author Michael Crichton pondered the disastrous implications of using DNA to revive various species of dinosaurs. Suffice it to say that the consequences of this ill-advised fictional project, as chronicled on screen across the decades, have borne little resemblance to an episode of “The Flintstones.”

David Koepp - screenwriter of the original 'Jurassic Park' - returns decades later with a new film that strives to return the franchise to its scary thrill-ride roots, and to be less, well, goofy: "I wanted to make dinosaurs special again.

While the action delivers in bursts, ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ stumbles with forgettable human characters and mutant monsters that feel out of place in a franchise built on prehistoric awe.
