A LEGOLAND Florida spokesperson said it is making “operational changes” at its theme park that resulted in mass layoffs reported to the state of Florida last week, including more than 100 performers.

Legoland Florida plans to lay off 234 workers, primarily performers, in an effort to be more competitive in central Florida's thriving theme park market.

The resort, which opened in 2011, said most of those who will lose their jobs in the coming months are entertainers.
