Observant Muslims worldwide will soon be united in a ritual of daily fasting from dawn to sunset as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan starts

Muslims in Texas, along with millions of other muslims across the world will prepare for a month of fasting, spirituality and reflection for Ramadan.

During this month, adult Muslims (past the age of puberty) fast from dawn to sunset. During those daylight hours, fasting Muslims abstain from eating or drinking anything, even water, having sexual intercourse and abstain from immoral acts such as swearing, lying and anger.
