New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby believes that he's worthy of 2025 Defensive Player of the Year recognition. "I think I should be on First Team All-Defense. I think I should win Defensive Player of the Year,” Anunoby said, per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. “I’ve always felt that way."

In six of the last seven years, the Defensive Player of the Year award has  gone to a player at least 6-11, prioritizing blocked shots.

OG Anunoby is doing some politicking. The New York Knicks lanky wing knows he's a good defender. He wants the rest of the league to recognize him as a great defender. Anunoby told the New York Daily News this: "I should make First Team All-Defense and win Defensive Player of the Year.
