There are heightened concerns for D.C.'s Smithsonian museums after President Trump issued a Truth Social post criticizing the institution and what he called “woke” culture.

President Donald Trump attacked the Smithsonian in a Truth Social post again over its depictions of slavery, receiving heavy pushback online.

A White House official told NBC News that Trump plans to expand his review of museums beyond the Smithsonian, which is based in Washington, D.C.

President Trump continued his crusade against the Smithsonian museum, on Tuesday saying he has instructed his attorneys to "go through the Museums" the same way that the administration has investigated universities nationwide.

"The Museums throughout Washington, but all over the Country are, essentially, the last remaining segment of "WOKE," he wrote.
