More than 6 inches of snow is possible across Massachusetts this weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s Boston office.

Forecasters warn that a storm stemming from the Midwest could bring between 6 to 9 inches of snow Saturday night to Massachusetts.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 3:52 a.m. on Friday valid from Saturday 1 p.m. until Sunday 5 a.m. for Cambria, Blair, Somerset and Bedford counties.

On Thursday at 2:39 p.m. a winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Saturday 7 p.m. until Sunday 4 p.m. for Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.
