Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar led the peloton on a novel route up Montmartre and past the Sacré-Cœur en route to winning the Tour de France for the fourth time. Germany's Florian Lipowitz finished third in the race.

The roads were dangerously slippery after heavy rain. A fourth Tour de France title was all but won anyway, so finishing safely in the pack would do fine for Tadej Pogacar. Especially considering Sunday’s final stage had already been neutralized for safety reasons and he just had to complete the race.

As Tadej Pogacar heads off on a well-earned holiday, the four-time Tour de France winner can look back with pride at his latest achievement. On Sunday, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider secured his latest Tour crown in style on the streets of Paris which brought him level with British rider Chris Froome for all-time Tour de France wins.

Last year’s Tour concluded outside Paris for the first time since 1905 because of a scheduling conflict with the Olympics, with the final stage held in Nice. The Champs-Élysées returned this year for the conclusion of the 3,320-kilometer (2,060-mile) race.

Another day successfully completed, only one more to go. Tadej Pogacar is getting closer to his fourth Tour de France victory. However, he still has to navigate the ride to the Champs-Élysées, which is quite different from the traditional parade through Paris.
