After two days of preliminary heats or semifinal rounds, the action on the track gets serious on Saturday in Day 3 of the USATF Outdoor Championships track and field meet at Hayward Field. There will be finals in the men's and women's 1,500 meters, the men's and women's 3,000 steeplechase, the men's and women's 400 and the women's 100 hurdles.

There are several big names heading into this year’s event, despite some of the athletes not needing to compete in order to qualify for the world team. Noah Lyles is planning to run the 200m sprint in a bid for a record-tying fifth U.S. men’s gold medal in the event.
