The rain has finally relented in southern B.C. on Thursday, but floodwaters have left thousands of people in the province's Fraser Valley on edge.
Heavy rain across Washington State and British Columbia has driven multiple rivers to major flood stage, forcing evacuations, road closures and emergency rescues.
The disruptions echoed those the region experienced in 2021, when floods and landslides in British Columbia killed at least five people.

The Met Office has issued weather warnings for Scotland, Wales and southwest England as Storm Bram brings heavy rainfall and strong winds to parts of the UK. Forecasters have warned of treacherous conditions through the day and into tomorrow morning.
Traffic reporting service Inrix shows the motorway has been shut between junction one and the A56. The collision is reported to have taken place on the southbound carriageway, but the northbound side was also closed for a short time.
