CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Amtrak set an all-time record 32.8 million customer trips during the 2024 fiscal year, according to a news release. Ridership increased approximately 15% over 2023’s fiscal year. Amtrak also achieved $2.5 billion in ticket revenue, 9% higher year-over-year.

Amtrak set a new high in ridership in fiscal year 2024, the railroad company announced Tuesday. Across all routes, Amtrak recorded 32.8 million customer trips, representing a 15% increase over FY 2023 and exceeding pre-pandemic ridership by roughly 300,000 trips.

Amtrak welcomed 32.8 million passengers on the passenger rail system, a 15% increase from the previous year. Customers can look forward to rail service improvements in 2025 with billions in investments.
