André Leon Talley’s presence could be felt everywhere at the Met Gala this year. The late creative director and editor at large of Vogue magazine, who died in 2022 at age 73, heavily influenced the spirit of the costume exhibit,

Anna Wintour exclusively told Live From E! that the Met Gala 2025 theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," pays homage to the late fashion visionary and her friend, André Leon Talley.

Leading up to the Met Gala, several stars had already paid tribute to Talley, including Grammy winning rapper Doechii, who honored Talley's love of tennis through a sporty look, which featured a tennis racket cover designed by Louis Vuitton.
