The Denver Broncos are holding a rookie minicamp this weekend for their seven draft picks, 15 undrafted free agents and more than two dozen tryout players. The most notable of those tryout players was expected to be veteran quarterback Desmond Ridder.

Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports that Ridder no longer will attend the team’s three-day rookie minicamp. No reason was given for the change of plans. Ridder became a free agent in March after the Raiders did not tender a contract to him as a restricted free agent.

With QB Desmond Ridder backing out of his vet tryout, Broncos are bringing in former Notre Dame/Saints QB Ian Book for vet tryout during rookie minicamp. Sean Payton selected Book in 4th round of 2021 draft for NO. Book with Chiefs early and Eagles late last year. Not bad.
