Jamaica is seeing an outbreak of leptospirosis and is urging anyone who is experiencing symptoms from the infectious disease to seek immediate medical care.

Six people have died of leptospirosis, a rare bacterial illness often found in contaminated water. The storm increased the risk of contracting the disease, officials said.
