Larry Keefe, who coordinated flights that took about 50 migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, will again have his hands in Florida’s immigration enforcement. The Florida Cabinet appointed him executive director for the new State Board of Immigration Enforcement on Monday.

Larry Keefe, who as public safety “czar” in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration helped orchestrate controversial flights of migrants from Texas to Massachusetts in 2022, was named Monday to oversee immigration enforcement in Florida.

He was handed power to distribute some of the $250 million in grants designated for local law enforcement that work with federal immigration agencies

Larry Keefe helped organize the flight of dozens of migrants to Martha's Vineyard under the Biden administration and will now help lead Florida's immigration enforcement efforts.
