Germany, France and the United Kingdom are likely to start the process of reimposing UN sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program on Thursday, three European officials told CNN Wednesday.

France, Britain and Germany on Thursday triggered a mechanism to reimpose United Nations sanctions on Iran for failing to comply with commitments over its nuclear programme.The three countries notified the UN Security Council that they "believe Iran to be in significant non-performance of its commitments" under a 2015 nuclear deal,

Britain, France and Germany will begin the process of reimposing U.N. sanctions on Iran at the U.N. Security Council on Thursday, two European diplomats said. The trio, known as the E3, met Iran on Tuesday to try to revive diplomacy over the nuclear programme before they lose the ability in mid-October to restore sanctions on Tehran that were lifted under a 2015 nuclear accord with world powers.
