Utility man Cavan Biggio, who batted .197 with five homers and 19 RBIs in 78 games last year, has reached a minor league deal with the Royals.
Biggio, 29, has a baseball pedigree. His father, Craig, starred with the Houston Astros and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. Cavan Biggio has spent six seasons in MLB across stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.
