LONDON (AP) — Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned by the Kremlin with a rare and lethal toxin found in the skin of poison dart frogs, five European countries said Saturday.

Poison dart frogs have fascinated researchers. Now their toxin has allegedly been linked to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

The toxin was found in the body of the Russian dissident Aleksei A. Navalny, who died in prison two years ago, five governments said, challenging Russia’s official account.
