Nelson would be a big-time addition for the Bruins, as he is a consistent 30-goal and 60-point threat. In his previous three seasons, he scored at least 34 goals. In addition, he had 69 points in 2023-24 and 75 points in 2022-23. Thus, he would provide the Bruins' forward group with a massive boost if acquired.

It was DeBrusk’s first game against Boston after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Bruins, who selected him with the No. 14 pick of the 2015 NHL Draft. The 28-year-old forward signed a seven-year contract with Vancouver as a free agent on July 1.

Pavel Zacha and Brad Marchand each scored twice and Jonas Korpisalo made 21 saves as the Boston Bruins defeated the New York Islanders 6-3 on Wednesday night. Zacha’s tip-in at 10:48 of the third period snapped a 3-all tie.

On Tuesday, the Bruins did everything right except put the puck in the net in a 2-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. On Wednesday on Long Island, the B’s had all sorts of puck management issues, but they came away with a 6-3 win over the New York Islanders.
