The Los Angeles Chargers kick off the NFL preseason early with the Hall of Fame Game, but don't expect to see quarterback Justin Herbert take the field.

For all the stats and accolades in Justin Herbert's career, his 2024 season might rank at the top. Herbert became the third member of the Chargers to appear on the annual NFL Top 100 list Wednesday as he landed at No. 56. It marks the fifth straight year the quarterback has been on the annual list.

Coach Jim Harbaugh says the plan is for Trey Lance to start against the Detroit Lions and for DJ Uiagalelei to play in the second half in Canton, Ohio.
