As firefighters continue making progress on the Franklin Fire, which burned more than 4,000 acres in Malibu this week, mandatory evacuation orders were lifted and downgraded to warnings Friday.

Los Angeles' National Weather Service issues warning Tuesday evening that southern California was still at "very extreme fire danger."

Aided by favorable winds and weather, firefighters on Wednesday progressed in containing a wildfire in the beach community of Malibu, California, where 6,300 people evacuated their homes as schools and businesses shut their doors.
