Nick Kurtz became the first major league rookie to hit four homers in a game, leading the Athletics to a 15-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Friday night.

A four-game sweep at the hands of the last-place A’s at Daikin Park highlighted a depleted lineup and saw another starting pitcher join baseball’s longest injured list.

The 6-foot-5, 23-year-old slugger has 23 homers in 66 games this season.
