Constitutional Court to decide on Friday whether to annul first round results following complaints poll subject to foreign interference

BUCHAREST — Romania’s Constitutional Court on Thursday asked the country’s top election authority to recount and check again all ballots from Sunday’s presidential election first round. The Central Electoral Bureau will meet this afternoon to decide on the next steps.

The recount was ordered by Romania's Consitutional Court. Far-right populist Calin Georgescu won the first round of the presidential election and was set to go against centrist Elena Lasconi in a December runoff.
