Voter turnout has been declining steadily in Ontario provincial elections for decades, from a high of 74 per cent in the 1971 general election, to between 58 and 44 per cent since 1999. With 49.94 per cent of eligible voters casting ballots, London West had the highest voter turnout of the city’s four ridings.

Ontarians voted in a snap election Thursday and the winners of the eight ridings in the London region will remain unchanged. London west is a provincial riding located in Southwest Ontario. This riding is currently represented by Ontario NDP MPP Peggy Sattler who first took office in 2013. Sattler collected 22,510 votes, winning 45.

With 81 of 81 polls reporting, incumbent Terence Kernaghan, of the Ontario New Democratic Party, is projected to be re-elected in London North Centre. Kernaghan has 22,587 of 48,356 (46.71%) votes cast. Kernaghan has represented the riding since 2018.

The Progressive Conservatives will form a third consecutive majority government in Ontario after a snap winter election.

With 45 of 45 polls reporting, incumbent Teresa Armstrong, of the Ontario New Democratic Party, is projected to be re-elected in London-Fanshawe. Armstrong has 18,749 of 39,398 (47.59%) votes cast.
