Honduras on Sunday will hold general elections marked by preemptive allegations of voting fraud and an intervention by the United States.

President Donald Trump issued an endorsement Wednesday for the upcoming presidential elections in Honduras, promoting the right-wing candidate Nasry Asfura of the National Party and attacking his rivals Rixi Moncada of the Libre Party and Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday backed Nasry Asfura of Honduras' conservative National Party in the presidential election in the Latin American country on Sunday, saying he can work with Asfura to counter drug trafficking.
