The new live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe movie has been in development for a very long time, and it’s finally moving forward under the direction of Travis Knight ( Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings ).

Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as the new He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe live-action movie and the actor suggests this take won't borrow too heavily from what's come before. Check it out!

Nicholas Galitzine says the live-action Master of the Universe will be different from the animated counterpart that raised a generation.

In an interview with THR, Galitzine was asked if he’s binge-watched any of the old He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon, which ran from 1983 to 1985, as well as how the new movie will compare to the series that started airing just a year after the Mattel toy launched. The actor answered:

The 30-year-old actor will play the Eternia superhero in the new live-action movie adaptation of the iconic Mattel toy line and cartoon series from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.

Leto has a history of playing grinning, emaciated villains or undead things. He of course played the worst Joker, and the Hatbox Ghost in the recent Haunted Mansion movie. And Morbius kinda had a skeletal face thing going on at times. Anyway, he’ll probably do great.
