Show" host Jon Stewart went to bat against parent company Paramount over the news that CBS was canceling "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

So in late June, the U.S. rights expired, though the show remained on HBO Max. Then, earlier this month, the international rights expired, and Paramount had to pull all 26 seasons of "South Park" from Paramount Plus in regions outside of the U.S. It even forced Paramount to push the premiere of "South Park" season 27 to this Wednesday (July 23).

With a $1.5 billion five-year deal to lock the irreverent show down and take it away from HBO Max, the streaming service clearly thinks so. Paramonut Plus is steadily gaining subscribers, but lags behind rivals when it comes to the most popular content,

South Park fans have at least five more years of Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny to look forward to. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the long-running animated show South Park, have locked in a five-year deal to bring their show to the Paramount Plus streaming service and to give Paramount global streaming rights.
