Irmo, coming off a heartbreaking loss to Las Vegas, shut out Honolulu, Hawaii, 3-0 in baseball at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA— Fresh off a thrilling win over defending 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary in the Southeast Regional final, Irmo LL of South Carolina cruised past Braintree LL of Massachusetts — the New England Region champion — 13-0 in one-hit fashion in each team’s Williamsport opener on Thursday.

South Carolina celebrated its win at the ESPN Big Bracket that sits just outside Lamade Stadium. Sutton Gravelle climbed the ladder to move the Southeast team one spot closer to the championship. Everyone was cheering and singing Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A.”

The Honolulu Little League was eliminated from the Little League World Series Tuesday after losing to South Carolina.

Irmo faced Summerlin South of Nevada in a winner’s bracket game among the United States teams. But before they took the field, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley delivered a message to the team as they watched on an Ipad.

The Summerlin South Little League team kept its winning streak alive and brought home the victory after scoring the game’s only run in the extra inning. On Monday, Aug. 17, Summerlin South defeated Irmo from South Carolina in the Little League World Series.

Irmo is now just the fourth South Carolina team to reach the Little League World Series, earning attention from fans, community leaders, and even South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer. The All-Stars will now take their historic run to Williamsport, aiming to bring the Palmetto State its first-ever Little League World Series title.
