President Trump says 'woke' is not just a problem at the Smithsonian and that he'll root it out at museums nationwide.

CNN's Laura Coates took issue Tuesday night with President Donald Trump's repeated claims that the Smithsonian Institute has gone "out of control" with woke content and used some of his own words from 2017 to prove him wrong.

CBS Mornings” host Tony Dokoupil agreed with President Trump’s stance to eliminate the sins of America’s past being portrayed in Smithsonian museums.

Through its 21 museums, 21 libraries, 14 education and research centers and a zoo, the Smithsonian Institution’s collections are expansive and cover every aspect of U.S. history, including more than 200 years of slavery.

The president says the collection of museums shouldn’t focus so heavily on things like slavery and other negative aspects of American history.

CNN host Abby Phillip ripped into President Donald Trump’s claim that the “woke” Smithsonian focuses too much on the evils of slavery. Trump, 79, made the complaint in a social media post on Tuesday,

Many Smithsonian employees are reportedly “scared” of the White House’s offensive. Given the circumstances, it’s tough to blame them.

If done wisely, the White House’s review of museum materials could remove countless progressive distortions of the American story.
