Feb 18, 2015 · Accuracy on factory rifles is on a case by case basis imo. But I'd double check the barrel twist on Winchesters in 264 Win. They can be pretty slow so you might not be able to shoot the heavier bullets. Good luck!. BTW I love Winchester model 70's.

Jan 29, 2013 · Yes, a Model 70 is a Model 70. . I meant, you could most likely pick up a very nice pre-war M-70 for the $$$ or less than you might spend on a "New" iteration of the M-70. Your project sounds like an exciting one.

Jul 18, 2021 · All of our model 70s are pretty decent shooters for being lightweight. 1 inch three shot groups with certain factory ammo or under 1 inch with handloads. Federal cheap powershock 130 grain are the cheapest and best shooting we have found. Ours don't seem to like hornady factory ammo and are closer to 2 inch groups. They warm up fast.

Jan 25, 2014 · First gun would not do better than 3-5" with Federal factory ammo; Winchester supreme would not stay on a 8 1/2x11" target. After looking it all over, I found a reamer mark (or gouge) 2/3 around inside of bore, 1/4" from muzzle.
