On September 2, 1992 WCW Clash of the Champions XX took place from the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta. The event was not only the 20th time WCW held a "Clash of the Champions" show but also marked the 20th anniversary of professional wrestling being shown on TBS as Mid-Atlantic Wrestling in 1972. On June 16, 1992 WCW Clash of the Champions XIX took place in Charleston, South Carolina at the McAlister Field House of The Citadel. The entire event was based around the NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament. In the main event and the tournament quarter finals, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy and “Dr. Death” Steve Williams take on The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner). The event didn’t air on TBS until June 22, 1992. There were 4,600 fans in attendance and the show drew a 2.8 rating on TBS.

On January 21, 1992 WCW Clash of the Champions XVIII took place at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, Kansas. In the main event, Ricky Steamboat & Sting took on Rick Rude & Steve Austin (with Paul E.
