This aircraft might look like a standard C-47 Dakota, but it’s actually the AC-47 Spooky, the first dedicated gunship in U.S. Air Force history. Developed during the Vietnam War, the Spooky was fitted with three side-mounted 7.62 mm Miniguns capable of firing up to 6,000 rounds per minute each. Crews would fly in slow, tight circles over targets, using tracer rounds to direct devastating firepower with pinpoint accuracy.
