One of Gable's later works, TEACHER'S PET ('58) marked the first time he worked with Mamie Van Doren and Doris Day. Day later revealed that she only accepted the role to work with Gable, who she had long admired having grown up watching his films. According to her autobiography, not only did she like him immediately as a costar – but she also "could actually feel the magnetic force of his personality."
